The Embedded Systems Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, enhancing and supporting Mosaic's line of web-enabled instrument controllers, analog and digital data acquisition electronics, and communications products. This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary position requiring creative problem solving and excellent communications skills. Mosaic Industries has been providing high technology products and services since 1985. Mosaic designs and markets embedded computer electronics for instruments and automation. Products include palm-sized controllers and modular I/O boards that make it easy to build sophisticated instruments to acquire and process sensory data, control automation systems, communicate via wired or wireless links, access the web, and control an instrument via graphical user interfaces. New initiatives include web front panels that allow a phone or tablet to serve as the control panel for an instrument. Our products are used in a wide range of medical, automation, and analytical instruments.

Periodically, we have an available entry level position for an Embedded Systems Software/Firmware Engineer or an Office Assistant/Accountant. Any openings will be posted on craigslist.org. Candidates should have a B.S. or higher degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or hard sciences, with experience programming in C and familiarity with Linux, GCC, Java, and PHP. Responsibilities and skills required are:

• The ideal candidate will be an excellent C programmer, have an understanding of microcomputer software design in limited-memory environments, and be familiar with Linux administration.
• The successful candidate will be hands-on, well organized, have good time management skills, and be able to drive projects to completion.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
