Mosaic's Embedded Computers for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. A SCADA system is a computer system that controls and monitors any process. SCADA is not limited to process industries only (such as oil and gas refining, or water and waste treatment), but also is widely employed in such industries as energy, manufacturing, transportation, and more. The SCADA systems can vary in complexity, from relatively simple ones (for example, used to control and monitor a laboratory clean room), to incredibly complex – used to supervise over all nuclear power plant processes.
The SCADA system integrates multiple I/O devices, data loggers, controllers, operator interfaces (HMI, GUI), networking and communications equipment, and software into a single system. The SCADA system gathers data from various local or off site sensors which is then sent to its central (supervisory) computer for data processing and control.
Mosaic offers integrated hardware and software solutions for SCADA applications. Our I/O-rich handheld computers and DAQ modules are ideal for interfacing to many different types of sensors and actuators which can be local or remote, sometimes miles away. For an affordable SCADA solution, we offer:
All Mosaic controllers include pre-coded device drivers providing full high level access to their functions using either the C or Forth programming languages.
Pre-coded I/O drivers facilitate supervisory control and data acquisition, pulse width modulation, motor control, PID control, sensor calibration, frequency measurement, data analysis, data logging, analog control, and communications.
Extensive documentation with precoded sample programs helps you finish your application quickly.
